Usually such scammers have full proof information about themselves but most of which are definitely fake. Counterfeit documents like those of passports and visas pictures are generally used for these purposes. Money is a major factor for such cases.
The dating scammer’s web out different stories like loosing parents in heartbreaking accidents , or they are left high and dry in some other land by their ex, or some may tell that they are facing huge loss in their business. All will send some attractive pictures but will not come in front. And the demand of all these people is the same.
Money and only money. But it is strange that people can fall into such traps so easily. Why will they pay money to somebody who they hardly know! There are certain differences between gold-diggers and scammers. But you have to be careful about both.
